IMG_20190202_195750 I am so excited to teaching Math and Science to your 4th grader.

I am originally form Western New York State...Go Bills!...and attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.  I have a Bachelor of Science in   Emergency Medical Care with a minor in health care management and supervision, and have over 33 years of experience in emergency services.  I am a   NC Paramedic and have been for the past 34 years.  My career in EMS included patient care, training of all ages, public education, pubic relations and   human resources.  I also worked in the community college system teaching at the associates level, coordinating clinical for paramedic and EMS students,   and as a program director for professional development for law enforcement, EMS and Fire Services.  I have held national EMS teaching certifications   throughout my career from various national organizations.

You ask about why I'm teaching, because over 34 years of my career has been community outreach to children in Durham and all over North Carolina.  I enjoy working with kids and watching them grow and understand new and exciting things everyday day.  I have spent the past 12 years as a board member and coalition member of Durham County Safe Kids to provide community outreach to help teach caregivers and kids safety and injury prevention messages and skills.

I believe in the mission and vision of Excelsior Classical Academy and look forward to a AWESOME year with your 4th grader.
