Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela
My career in education began after getting a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Teaching from UNC. Go Tar Heels! After graduating, I set out to change the worlds of some 8th graders by teaching science in Chapel Hill. A few short years later, my husband, Ben, and I decided to start a family of our own. Over the last ten years my world has been changed by the lives of our three precious sons, all of whom are now at ECA. During this time I have done my best to prepare my boys to be independent learners and wise decision makers. Now the time has come for me to take a step back into education. I have been blessed with the opportunity to share an assistant teacher position with Mrs. Hodge where we get to help teach and love on Mrs. Williams' kindergarten class. While kindergarten is quite different from eighth grade science, I am confident that I can get to know these children as individuals and to meet their needs in order to help prepare them to be successful students at ECA and citizens who can one day change our world.
